Notice: Brigid {Biddy} Desmond of Greystones, Co Wicklow, formerly of Ballymacarbry, Co. Waterford, has passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her nephew Michael. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters John, Chrissy, Mary, Dan, and Mickey. Brigid will be deeply missed by her beloved sister Philomena, sister-in-law Ann Marie Desmond, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, as well as many friends and neighbors.
A prayer service will be held for Brigid at The Holy Rosary Church in Greystones on Friday, July 21st at 1pm. The funeral mass will then take place at Our Lady and St Laurence’s Church in Fourmilewater, Co Waterford on Saturday, July 22nd at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Brigid’s family expresses gratitude to the medical staff at St Vincents and St Colmcille’s Hospitals, the Community Palliative Care team at Wicklow Hospice, The Irish Cancer Society, and the numerous carers who have supported Biddy throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wicklow Hospice or the Irish Cancer Society.
