Obituary: Catherine {Kay} Walker, previously known as Catherine Toomey, peacefully passed away on August 4th, 2023 at St. Francis Hospice Raheny, surrounded by her beloved family. She was formerly a resident of Druminalass, Ballinaglera, Co. Leitrim, Moatfield Park in Coolock, Dublin, and Co. Donegal. Kay was preceded in death by her husband Gerry, as well as her brothers Eddie and Patrick, and sister Eva. She is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her son and daughters – Brenda {Staunton} of Louisburgh, Frank, and Catherine – her sister Sr. Margaret-Ann, her brother Michael, son-in-law John Staunton, Frank’s partner Diane, Catherine’s partner Jason, and her grandchildren Ella, Eva, Will, Seán, Cillian, and Eryn. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended Walker and Toomey families, as well as her neighbors in Coolock and Ballinaglera, and a wide circle of friends.
The funeral arrangements are as follows: Kay will be lying in repose at Jennings Funeral Home, Springdale Road, Raheny {D05 EE97} on Monday, August 7th, from 2.00pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at 4.00pm. The funeral will then proceed to St. Hugh’s Church, Ballinaglera on Tuesday, with Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
