Notice: Christopher {Christy} Smith of Lucan, Co. Dublin, and formerly of Cavan Town, passed away on July 23, 2023, at Our Lady’s Hospice in Harold’s Cross. Christy was surrounded by his loved ones after a prolonged battle with illness. He was a beloved husband to Siobhán, a cherished father to Sarah and Thomas, a father-in-law to Shane, and a loving brother to Jimmy, Enda, and Mary {with Brian predeceasing him}. He will be deeply mourned by his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
The funeral arrangements include a private gathering at home, a removal from his residence on July 25, and a Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Lucan at 11 am. Burial will follow at Esker Lawn cemetery in Lucan, Co. Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Our Lady’s Hospice in Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6.
