Derek {Denik} McManus

Notice: Derek {Denik} McManus, a native of Claughaun Fort Garryowen, Limerick, passed away peacefully at his home in Gillingham, Kent, on March 30th, 2023, surrounded by his family. The loving husband of Claire and father of Derek and Fionntan, he will be missed by his daughter-in-law Margaret, grandson Ray, siblings, extended family, and friends. Derek’s parents, Eddie and Chrissy, preceded him in death. His funeral took place in Gillingham, with his ashes being cremated at Mount St. Lawrence Extension Cemetery, Limerick. The family requested donations be sent to the Chris Aked Foundation, which provides support to bereaved children.

A Memorial Mass was held on Friday, May 19th, at St. John’s Cathedral in Limerick. The service was streamed live, and the family requested messages of condolence be left in the Comments section on the online obituary.
