Notice: Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, a Funeral Director and Publican from Effrinagh and Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2023, at The Northwest Hospice Sligo. Surrounded by his family, Dermot will be deeply missed by his mother Bridie, sisters Aileen O’Gara and Carol, brother Niall, brother-in-law Larry O’Gara, sister-in-law Ruth, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephew, cousins, extended family, neighbors, and friends. Dermot’s father, Michael A. McLoughlin, predeceased him.
His body will repose at his home on Riverview House in Carrick-on-Shannon on July 27 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A removal service will take place on July 28, arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Gowel at 7:30 pm. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held on July 29 at 12 noon, followed by burial at Kiltoghert Cemetery. The family kindly requests no floral arrangements and instead, suggests donations to the Northwest Hospice.
