Notice: Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, a Funeral Director and Publican from Effrinagh and Station Road, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, passed away peacefully at The Northwest Hospice Sligo on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023. Dermot was surrounded by his loving family and cared for by the staff and nurses. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael A. McLoughlin. Dermot is survived by his mother, Bridie, his sisters Aileen O’Gara and Carol, his brother Niall, brother-in-law Larry O’Gara, sister-in-law Ruth, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephew, cousins, extended family, neighbors, and friends. Dermot will be greatly missed.
The funeral arrangements for Dermot include a viewing at his home in Carrick-on-Shannon on Thursday, July 27th, followed by removal to St. Patrick’s Church in Gowel on Friday evening. The Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Saturday, July 29th, followed by burial at Kiltoghert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northwest Hospice. The family requests privacy on Friday, July 28th. Dermot’s Funeral Mass will be live-streamed, and condolences can be left in the “Condolences” section. The McLoughlin family appreciates the support and understanding shown during this sad and difficult time.
