Desmond {Dessie} FARRELL

Notice: Desmond {Dessie} Farrell of Grange Lawns, Mullingar, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2023, after a brief and courageous battle with illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at home. Dessie was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret, as well as his sisters Roseleen and Tina, brothers Michael and Martin, and nephew Conor. He was the beloved husband of Rose and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife, daughter Sonia, and sons Dessie Jnr., Peter, Thomas, David, and Roger, along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother James, sisters Patricia, Julie, and Margaret, sister-in-law Elizabeth, son-in-law Alanis, daughters-in-law Mary-Therese, Caroline, Dominica, Louise, and Rachel, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dessie’s remains will be reposing at Shaw’s Funeral Home on Bishopsgate St. in Mullingar on Monday, June 26, from 4:00 p.m., with prayers at 6:30 p.m. Cremation will take place on the following day at 12:30 p.m. in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. In another sad news, Dessie’s brother Patrick {Pat} unexpectedly passed away this morning at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
