Notice: Formerly from Bohermore and Shantalla in Galway City, Gerry was a retired member of the Irish Naval Service and IFI. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family and receiving excellent care at Cobh Community Hospital. Gerry was the cherished husband of Mary, and the beloved father of Sharon, Michelle, Trisha, and Andrea. He was also a dear brother of Lily, Andrew, Noel, Collette, and the late Tess, Tommy, Sean, Eamonn, Desmond, and Jacqueline. Gerry was a devoted granddad to Sarah, Richard, Alyson, Nicola, Aisling, Jordyn, Lauren, Cian, Daniel, Ruth, Cliona, and Rebecca, and adored great-granddad to Zoe, Presley, Grayson, and Freya. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. Gerry’s funeral arrangements include a Prayer Service on Tuesday, August 8th at Cahill’s Funeral Home, and a Requiem Mass on Wednesday, August 9th at St. Colman’s Cathedral followed by burial in St. Colman’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Cobh Community Hospital or O.N.E.
