Notice: Helen McConnell, formerly of Kilcogy, Co. Cavan, passed away suddenly but peacefully on July 25, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at the Intensive Care Unit of Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar. Survived by her devoted husband Michael, son Hugh, daughter Michelle, and her cherished grandchildren Lucia, Ailish, Quin, Cían, and Toby, Helen will be deeply missed and forever remembered. She is also survived by her brothers Larry, Pat, Eugene, and Henry, sister Margaret, daughter-in-law Grace, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, and neighbors.
Helen’s funeral arrangements include a period of repose at her home in Irishtown on July 27 from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm, with the remainder of the time being private. A funeral Mass will be held on the following day at 11.00 am at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Mullingar, followed by burial at Walshestown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Irish Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.ie.
