Notice: Helen McConnell {nee Cunningham}, of Irishtown, Mullingar, passed away on July 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Intensive Care Unit of Midland Regional Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband Michael, son Hugh, daughter Michelle, cherished grandchildren Lucia, Ailish, Quin, Cían, and Toby, as well as her siblings, extended family, and friends. Helen’s funeral will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Mullingar, followed by a burial in Walshestown Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Irish Cancer Society. A live webcam of Helen’s mass will be available on the Mullingar Parish website for those unable to attend. Condolences may be left in the online condolence book.

Helen McConnell, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2023, at the age of [undefined]. Surrounded by her family, Helen spent her final moments in the care of the compassionate staff at the Intensive Care Unit of Midland Regional Hospital. Left to mourn her loss are her devoted husband Michael, son Hugh, daughter Michelle, and adored grandchildren Lucia, Ailish, Quin, Cían, and Toby. Helen also leaves behind her brothers Larry, Pat, Eugene, and Henry, sister Margaret, daughter-in-law Grace, as well as many other relatives, friends, and neighbors. Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects at Helen’s home in Irishtown on July 27 before her funeral at the Cathedral of Christ the King, followed by a burial in Walshestown Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to the Irish Cancer Society, and condolences may be left online in the Condolence Book Section.
