Notice: Jim {James/Seamus} Hickey, a resident of Dromore Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim and formerly of Reafadda, Hollyford & Ballagh, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary, peacefully passed away at Marie Curie Hospice in Belfast on 2nd August 2023.

Preceded in death by his beloved daughter Niamh, Jim was the cherished son of the late Tom and Josie Hickey. He is deeply mourned by his sister Anne, brother-in-law Eddie Wade, daughters Ailbhe and Deirdre {Barry}, son Seamus, their mother Bridie, sons-in-law Brendan and John, and grandchildren Seanán, Tom, and Alfie.

Jim held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews Aoife, Eoghan, Grainne, and Eamonn, as well as his nieces and nephews-in-law Shane, Alma, and Joy, and grandnieces and grandnephews Emily, Ellie Rose, Richie, John, and Beauden.

The Chapel of Rest at O’Neill’s Funeral Directors, located at 98 Stewartstown Road, Belfast, BT11 9JP, will be where Jim’s remains will be laid to rest from 1 pm to 5 pm on Friday 4th August 2023. Subsequently, his remains will be transported to White’s Funeral Home in Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary, on Saturday, 6th August, where he will lie in repose from 4 pm to 8 pm. A Requiem Mass in Jim’s honor will take place in St. Joseph’s Church, Hollyford, on Sunday at 1 pm.

Jim’s passing brings deep sorrow to his devoted family, his extensive network of friends, and all those who provided care and support to him.
