Notice: Jim O’Brien, 65, passed away on May 8, 2023, after battling a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. Jim is survived by his wife Ellie, children Geraldine, Teresa, and Joe, and eight grandchildren, as well as his siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. His funeral will take place at St. Martin’s Church, Ballyhale, on Wednesday at 12 noon with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Reposing at Johnston’s Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm, the family requested that the house be strictly private at all times. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Association. Those who wish to leave condolences for Jim’s family may do so online. Jim’s family and friends will dearly miss him, and may he rest in peace.
