Jim O’Loughlin

Notice: James O’Loughlin, a resident of Swords and formerly of Malahide, passed away on May 8, 2023, after a long illness. He was predeceased by his mother Eithne, father Tom, and brother Pat. O’Loughlin’s passing was sudden, devastating his loving family and friends. His daughter, Olivia, granddaughter, Luna, Olivia’s partner, Ciaran, brothers Brian and Hugh, sisters-in-law Orla, Belinda, and Katrina, and Olivia’s mother, Elaine, all mourn his passing. O’Loughlin’s nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors bid him a sorrowful goodbye as well.

O’Loughlin’s remains lay at Stafford’s Funeral Home on Golf Links Road, Portmarnock, on Thursday, May 11, from 3 pm to 5 pm. His funeral Mass was held on Friday morning at St. Sylvester’s Church, Malahide, followed by cremation at Glasnevin Crematorium. The family requested no flowers, and those willing to honor O’Loughlin’s memory were directed to make donations to Pieta House instead. The funeral service was available for live streaming through an independent company for those unable to attend.

In conclusion, James O’Loughlin’s passing leaves a large void in the hearts of his family, friends, and extended network. His daughter, granddaughter, and close family members bear the brunt of the loss, and the community mourns his passing as well. He will be remembered fondly for years to come, and his contributions to the community will not be forgotten.
