Notice: Christopher Morrissey, commonly known as Johnny, passed away peacefully in the care of St. James Hospital on July 27, 2023. He was surrounded by his beloved wife Sheila and their family. Johnny was a former resident of Oscar Square and had a long and dedicated career of 45 years with CIE Broadstone & Inchicore.
Johnny leaves behind a loving wife, Sheila, and their children Sean, Marie Therese, Denis, Eveleen, and Sheila Jane. He was also a caring and adored grandfather to Aaron, Shane, Denis, Rachel, Isibéal, Apollo, and Oscar. Johnny will be greatly missed by his siblings Marie and Joan, as well as his late brothers Richard, Michael, and sister Kathleen. He also leaves behind numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends.
There will be a viewing at Johnny’s home on Saturday starting at 5pm, and on Sunday from 2pm. On Monday morning, a funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Walkinstown, followed by his burial in Newlands Cross Cemetery. May his soul rest in peace.
