Notice: John O’Neill of Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal and formerly of Newtownabbey, passed away peacefully at Sligo University Hospital. He is survived by his wife Geraldine and will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and neighbors. John’s parents, Eileen and Peter O’Neill, predeceased him.
Reposing at his home on Monday and Tuesday, the funeral will take place on Wednesday. A walk-through visitation will be held, and the removal will be from his residence to St. Patrick’s Church in Ballyshannon for a Mass of the Resurrection. Cremation will follow at Lakelands Crematorium in Cavan. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Oncology Unit at Sligo University Hospital.
The family requests privacy on the day of the funeral, and condolences can be left in John’s condolence book. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on the St. Patrick’s Church website. John O’Neill will always be remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
