Notice: John Smyth of Corrineary, Drum, Scotshouse, Co. Monaghan, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023, under the caring support of the staff at Cavan General Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. John was a cherished father to Sinéad, Siobháin, Aileen, Brian, and Diarmuid and will be deeply missed by his sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends.
On July 1st, John’s funeral procession will depart from Martin’s Family Room and he will be laid to rest at his family home in Corrineary, Drum, Scotshouse. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday. The following morning, there will be a private service at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Scotshouse, followed by burial in the adjacent cemetery. The family kindly requests privacy at their home on Sunday morning.
John Smyth will forever be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
