Notice: Mai Aherne {formerly known as Mai Walker} passed away peacefully on August 11, 2023 at University Hospital Limerick after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband Christy and son Georgie. Mai was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her sons Noel and Kevin, daughter Mairead {McKenna}, son-in-law Timmy, daughter-in-law Jane, grandchildren Christopher, Cora, Maura, Lucy, Molly, Thomas, Jack, Molly, and Darragh, as well as her great-grandchildren Liam, Riain, George, Teddy, Penny, and Nell. She cherished her family and will also be missed by her extended family and wide circle of friends, including Rowena, Mary, Kathleen, Marcella, Lesley Ann. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Mai’s family will receive visitors at her residence in Old Kildimo, Kildimo, Co. Limerick from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 13th {V94 F991}. Her Requiem Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Kildimo on Monday, August 14th at 12 noon, followed by burial in the Old Kildimo Graveyard. For those unable to attend in person, the Requiem Mass will be live-streamed at [insert YouTube link]. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity that is meaningful to you.
