Notice: The death notice announces that Maimie Mc Vicar, formerly known as Maimie Casey, has passed away in Cremartin, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. She peacefully passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 92. Maimie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Kevin, her cherished son Paddy, and her brothers Frank and Denis.

Maimie is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Ken, Seamus, Cathal, and Ciaran, as well as her daughters Mary King {based in Dublin}, Bernie Quinn {Aghabog}, Cathy Mc Namee {Kildare}, and Michelle Carr {Galway}. She is also survived by her brother Mack from Corrintra, her sister Patricia Duffy from Castleblayney, her sons-in-law Arthur, Paul, Kevin, and Kevin, her daughters-in-law Eileen, Bernie, Anne, and Deirdre, her brother-in-law Brendan, her sister-in-law Kathleen, her 19 beloved grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends.

The death notice concludes with a quote, “May Maimie’s Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace,” and provides details about the visitation and funeral arrangements. Maimie will be laying in repose at her residence in Cremartin today from 2pm until 8pm, and again tomorrow from 2pm until 8pm. Her funeral will take place on Thursday morning, with a removal from the residence at 11:30am followed by a funeral Mass at St Michael’s Church Annyalla at 12 noon. The notice requests that the house remains private for family on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to Down Syndrome Ireland, either through C/o Wards Funeral Home or by using the donation box.
