Notice: Maria McCarthy {née Sherman}, aged 85, passed away on July 23, 2023, in Artane at Mount Hybla Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her three children, Fiona, Dermot, and Denise. Maria was the loving wife of the late Gerry McCarthy and will be deeply missed by her family, including her son-in-law Ali, daughter-in-law Lynda, and grandchildren Oisín, Edee, Zuri, Ruby, and Leon. She is also survived by her sisters Colm and Raphael, as well as her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Maria’s body will rest at her residence in Artane on Tuesday, July 25, from 5 pm to 7 pm. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 am at the church of St. Brendan’s in Coolock Village, followed by burial in Dardistown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Parkinson’s Association of Ireland.
