Notice: Mary Whelan {née Gannon}, of Cluain Dara, Fermoy, peacefully passed away on July 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and receiving exceptional care from the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cork University Hospital. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Patrick and son Mark. Mary will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her sons David, Noel, Alan, and Derek, daughters Lorraine and Faye, as well as her siblings, extended family members, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbors, and friends.
A reception will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Fermoy on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 1:45pm, followed by a Requiem Mass at 2pm. Mary will then be laid to rest in Kilcrumper New Cemetery in Fermoy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Irish Heart Foundation would be appreciated.
