Notice: We sadly announce the passing of Maureen Scallan {née O’Sullivan} from King Edward Lawn, Bray, Co. Wicklow, and formerly of Mountcollins, Co. Limerick. She passed away at St. Vincent’s University Hospital on February 13, 2024. Maureen is survived by her three sons, Columba, Ciaran, and Finian, her sister Noreen, brother Phillip, daughters-in-law/partner Gillian, Maire, and Kathy, grandchildren Ella and Lucy, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Nollaig and brother Eamonn.

Maureen dedicated herself to teaching, working at St. Peter’s Boy’s National school, as well as in London and Northern Ireland. She had a lifelong passion for gardening and was an avid bridge player, book lover, archaeologist, and a proud Irish speaker.

Reposing will take place at Thomas Murphy and Sons Funeral Home, Boghall Road, Bray {A98 R673} on Tuesday, February 20th from 6pm to 7pm. The Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at 10am in the Church of The Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray, followed by Cremation in the Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium. The family kindly requests no flowers.
