On Saturday, 5 August, Maureen passed away at the Galway Hospice, surrounded by excellent care. She was dearly loved by many, especially her brother Seán, his wife Ann, and their daughter Elaine. She was also cherished by her sisters-in-law Mary Wallace and Nora McDonagh, as well as her nieces, nephews, and their families. Maureen will be greatly missed by the numerous friends she made throughout her life, including those at the Connacht Laundry and the extended Wallace family and friends.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents Colm and Mary, her sisters baby Barbara, Úna, Anne, Bridie, and her brother Michael, who recently passed away.
Visitation for Maureen will take place at ‘St. Pio’s Room’ in the Church of the Sacred Heart on Seamus Quirke Road in Galway, starting at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 9 August. Her body will be moved into the church at 7 p.m. A Requiem Mass will then be held for Maureen on Thursday, 10 August at 12 noon, followed by her burial in Rahoon Cemetery.
