Michael {Mick} Dempsey

Notice: Michael Dempsey of Castlehill, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, and formerly of Laragh, Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon, passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2023, surrounded by his family at Roscommon Hospice. Michael was predeceased by his parents, his brother Sonny, sister Mary, and sister-in-law Sheila. He was a beloved husband to Ethna and an adored father to Rachael Leech. Michael also leaves behind his brothers Martin and Tom, and his sisters Betty and Celia, as well as his extended family, friends and neighbours. Reposing at McDonagh’s Funeral Home, Castlerea, on May 11th, his funeral mass takes place on May 12th at St. Bride’s Church, Ballintubber with burial taking place in Ballintubber Cemetery. Donations may be made to Mayo/Roscommon Hospice in lieu of flowers. May he rest in peace.

Michael Dempsey passed away peacefully at the age of 60, surrounded by his family at Roscommon Hospice. Born in Co. Roscommon, Michael lived in Bristol, UK before returning to Castlehill, Castlerea. He was a loving husband to Ethna and an adored father to Rachael Leech. Michael will be deeply missed by his family who cherished him. He is survived by his brothers Martin and Tom, and his sisters Betty and Celia, as well as his extended family, friends and neighbours. Michael’s funeral will take place at St. Bride’s Church, Ballintubber, with burial at Ballintubber Cemetery. His family is requesting donations to Mayo/Roscommon Hospice in lieu of flowers.
