Moya McGuinness{née Russell}

Notice: Moya McGuinness, formerly of Collooney, Co. Sligo, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family at North West Hospice in Sligo. She was predeceased by her husband Eamonn and her brothers Patrick and Philip. Moya was a cherished mother to Garrett, Niamh, Cian, Meabh, and Aengus, and a beloved grandmother to Kate, Eoghan, and Cora. She will be deeply missed by her immediate family, extended family, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

The funeral arrangements include a repose period at The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home in Sligo, with visitation on Friday evening from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. A Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday morning at St. Patrick’s Church in Strandhill, followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Scarden. Those who are unable to attend in person can livestream Moya’s Funeral Mass via the provided link. The family kindly requests that the home remains private and asks for family flowers only. Donations in Moya’s memory can be made to the North West Hospice, care of The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home.

Moya McGuinness was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered and mourned by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace.
