Nan Casey {formerly Nan Conneely}, a resident of Más, Carna, Co. Galway, peacefully passed away at Galway hospice on August 4, 2023, with her beloved family by her side. She is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Casey {Johnny Joe Mhaitias}, parents Penny {born Cloherty} and Johnny Conneely, sisters Mary Margaret, Noreen, and Penny Conneely, brothers Seán and Beartley Conneely, and nephew Macdara Casey.

Nan leaves behind her loving children Nuala, John, Beartley, Anna Maria, Mary, Michael, and Joe, as well as her grandchildren Éabha, Sean, Molly, Michael, Martha, Saidbh, Johnny, Peter, Jack, Séamus, Max, Bailey, Keira, Charlie, Penny, and Maitias. She will be dearly missed by her sons-in-law Ken Maher, Fionn Comerford, and Brian Ainsworth, and daughters-in-law Mae Casey, Geraldine Casey, Charlene Palmer, and Eleanor Cooke.

Nan also leaves behind her cherished sister Buddy Conneely, brother-in-law PJ Mc Guinness, sisters-in-law Baba Feeney, Mary Gohram, and Bridie Casey, her nieces and nephews, as well as the wider Casey and Conneely families, and her numerous friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Funeral arrangements include Nan’s reposing at her residence on Friday, August 4 {House Private}, and a viewing on Saturday, August 5, from 5-7pm at Mylotte’s Funeral Home in Carna. On Sunday, August 6, there will be a viewing at her residence from 4-8pm followed by a prayer service. A mass will be held on Monday, August 7, at 12pm at Saint Mary’s Church in Carna, with burial to follow in Mynish Cemetery.
