Nellie peacefully passed away at Galway University Hospital on Saturday, 21 October, at the age of 92, surrounded by her beloved family after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mick, as well as her siblings Mary, Nora, and James, and her daughter-in-law Caroline.
Nellie’s daughter Mary, sons James, John, Michael, and Christopher, sister Bridget, brother John, son-in-law David, daughters-in-law Mary, Karen, Bernadette, and John’s partner Bridget, cherished grandchildren Orla, Aoife, Elaine, Davey, David, Emma, Rachel, Dean, Matilda, Megan, Andrew, Aaron, Ethan, Thomas, Jennifer, Darragh, great-grandchildren Ryan and Josh, the extended Connolly and Coyne family, amazing neighbors, and dear friends will dearly miss and mourn her.
The viewing will take place at the Church of the Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue, on Tuesday, 24 October, starting at 5.00 p.m. The removal will be at 7.00 p.m. to St. Columba’s Church, Castlegar, where Nellie will arrive at 7.30 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, 25 October, at 11 a.m. at St. Columba’s Church. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in Lisheen cemetery, Ballybrit.
