Notice: With his loving family by his side, Ancel peacefully departed from this life on Thursday, August 3rd, under the exceptional care of Galway Hospice, after facing a courageous battle with a brief illness. Ancel is deeply mourned and will be greatly missed by his beloved family: his son, David; his daughters, Nicola O’Carroll, Sarita Johnston, and Michelle Flanagan; his sons-in-law, Tim, Stephen, and Alfred; his daughter-in-law, Dympna; and his cherished 11 grandchildren: Timothy, Odhran, Conor, Mark, Roisin, Aidan, Ciarán, Ferdia, Moya, Grace, and Kyle. He is predeceased by his mother, Kathleen O’Carroll {nee Devitt}, and father, Nicholas E. O’Carroll. Ancel’s former wife and dear friend, Jo, his extended relatives, neighbors, and numerous friends also feel the profound loss of his absence.

May his gentle soul find eternal rest.

Ancel will be laid to rest at Grenham’s Funeral Home in Ballinasloe {H53 HK15} on Sunday, August 6th, beginning at 4pm. There will be a removal at 6pm to St. Michael’s Church, Ballinasloe. Ancel’s Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11am, followed by burial in Creagh Cemetery.
