Rooney, Oliver G., peacefully passed away on the 1st of August 2023 at Galway Clinic, surrounded by his beloved family. Formerly from Belfast, he resided in Lochan Beag, Inverin, Co. Galway. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Rooney, as well as his brothers Patsy, Father Michael, Seamus, Jackie, Thaddeus, Frank, and Father Hubert, and his sisters Marie, Sister Ann, and Dympna. He will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy, daughter Martina, sisters Lila Stuart and Eleanor Kelly, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors, and numerous friends.
A wake will be held within the Cillin at the Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna, on Saturday, the 5th of August 2023, from 10:45 am, followed by the funeral procession at 11:45 am to the adjacent church. The Requiem Mass will commence at noon. A private cremation will take place afterward at Shannon Crematorium.
