Patrick {Pat} McMahon, a resident of Salthill, Galway {and previously of Drumcondra, Dublin} and a former staff member of the Regional Technical College Galway, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was predeceased by his sister Angela and brothers Noel and Bernard, as well as his grandson Eric.
Pat was a devoted husband to Margot and a loving father to Ronan, Dara, Ciarán, Molly, Aengus, and Neasa. He will be deeply missed by his wife, sons, and daughters, as well as his daughters-in-law Dee, Jenn, Berni, and Cáit, and sons-in-law Nigel and Luke. Pat was a cherished grandad to his numerous grandchildren Chloe, Ross, Brona, Hannah, Ralph, Isobel, Henry, Rory, Harry, Declan, Maeve, Imogen, Saibh, Kiana, Isaak, Kelly, and Emilia. He will always be remembered by his extended family and lifelong friends who shared his love for walking, climbing, and cycling.
Visitation will take place at his home on Friday, August 4th, from 4pm to 6pm. A farewell Mass will be held on Saturday morning at 11am in Christ The King Church, Salthill. Pat will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Galway Hospice and Galway Mountain Rescue.
