It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Philomena {Nan} McKenna {née Nevin}, beloved wife of the late Thomas, at the age of 96. Nan peacefully left this world while under the exceptional care of the staff at Silver Stream Care Centre in Dundalk. She will forever be missed by her surviving sisters Christine, Mae, and Bridget, as well as sister-in-law Nuala.
Nan, originally from Halifax, England and Woodtown, Castlebellingham, was predeceased by her son as an infant, and her brothers Jim and Syl, and sisters Kathleen and Bernadette. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and cherished memories for her nephews Paul, Aidan, Noel, David, Nigel, Declan, Michael, Joseph, Michael {Nevin}, Dermot, and Sean, niece Angela, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbors, and dear friends, including Loretta and Alison.
A visitation will be held at her residence in Gort Nua {Eircom A91 HC97} on Wednesday from 2pm to 6pm. Nan will be remembered in a Committal Ceremony at Lakelands Crematorium in Cavan on Thursday at 2pm, with her body being removed from her home at noon.
