Rooney, Robert {Bob} {formerly of Drogheda, Carrick-on-Suir, and Malahide} peacefully passed away on July 29, 2023, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is now reunited with his late wife Alice {Lal} and their infant daughter Kathryn. He will be deeply missed by his children Alison, Robert, Bryan, and Paul, his son-in-law Stephen, daughters-in-law Paula, Caroline, and Rachal, his grandchildren Ava, Lara, Lucy, Conor, Ciara, and Grace, as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors.

The late Robert Rooney will be lying in repose at Staffords Funeral Home, located on Golf Links Road in Portmarnock, on Tuesday afternoon, August 1st, from 3pm to 5pm. The family kindly requests privacy in their home on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, a funeral procession will leave for St. Sylvester’s Church in Malahide, where the Funeral Mass will commence at 11am. This will be followed by the burial at Fingal cemetery.
