Notice: A former Killavil, Ballymote resident has passed away peacefully with his family by his side. The late husband of Kitty, he is remembered as a devoted father to his children, John, Niamh, Orla, Seamus, and Darragh. The deceased is survived by his sons-in-law, Marcus and Niall, daughters-in-law Clare and Miriam, Darragh’s partner Nicola, and his grandchildren, among other loved ones. His siblings, Bobby and Marty, as well as his sisters, Isobel, Pat, and Tina, also mourn his death. The deceased will be reposing at Sweeney’s Funeral Home on Sunday, while the removal will take place on Monday for a requiem mass at St. David’s Church, Johnstown, followed by a burial ceremony at Ballycoog Cemetery. In order to facilitate those who cannot be physically present, the funeral will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s website.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arklow Cancer Support Group, with collection boxes placed in the funeral home. Supporters and sympathizers may also leave their condolences via the condolence section online. The deceased will be remembered for his kind and loving manner and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community.
