Sr. Philomena Smyth, a Missionary Sister of the Holy Rosary, who was originally from Moynalty, Co. Meath, passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2023. She dedicated her life to missions in Kenya, Zambia, and Ireland. Sr. Philomena was lovingly cared for during her final days at College View Nursing Home in Cavan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Mary, as well as her siblings. She will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews, as well as her extended family, the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary, and all of her friends.

The Funeral Mass for Sr. Philomena will be held on Wednesday morning, August 23rd, at 11a.m in the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim in Cavan. She will then be laid to rest in the Convent plot in Cullies Cemetery. For those unable to attend, condolences can be left in the section below.
