Notice: Stephen Shannon, of Drumkillrooske, Killeshandra, County Cavan, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Lisdarn Unit for the Elderly. He was preceded in death by his wife Molly, son Ciaran, parents Elizabeth and James, brothers Joe, Enda, and Jim, and sisters Collette, Mary, and Eileen. Stephen is survived by his son Martin, daughter Stephanie {McLoughlin, Longford}, daughters-in-law Olive and Aine, son-in-law Seamus, grandson Mark {Nicola}, Stephen, James, great-grandchildren Sophia and Jaxton, as well as his brothers and sisters Margaret, Teresa, Nancy, Philomena, John, Dan, and Kevin. He will be dearly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday morning at St. Brigid’s Church, Killeshandra, after his body is laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will take place at Lawlor’s Funeral Home, Belturbet, with the opportunity to pay respects on Monday from 6pm to 8pm. The family kindly requests that the house remain private during this time.
